About 15 months ago , you stated an update was in the works to automate scan scheduling. What is that status of that effort?

Malwarebytes for Mac 3.0 was released at the end of July, with real-time protection functionality.

If you're looking specifically for scheduled scanning, that is still in the future.

Sorry for the newbie question, but what is the difference between "real-time protection" and scheduled scanning? If I have constant real time protection, why do I still need to scan?

@spedprof, Generally speaking, Real-Time Protection looks for new files arriving on your computer to see if they are malware installers whereas scheduled scans will also search to see if any malware has managed to slip by and managed to become installed. I suspect that Malwarebytes will take a similar approach if and when they implement the latter.
