coin-hive.com Website Blocked Message

Folks,

This morning, MalwareBytes started continually blocking a website called ws006.coin-hive.com. It is saying that it is originating in the file chome.exe. I ran MalwareBytes custom scan, I have the Premium version and it is reporting everything on the C drive is clean. This website blocked message is continually popping up on my screen and I have not idea how to get rid of it. I attached a text report of just one of the blocks that are occurring on my PC. This is blocking every 2 seconds or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Joe

kevinf80,

Thanks for the help! Just after I posted this message, I started to remove unused extensions from Chrome. I had a URL Shortener I was using from the Chrome store. When I removed that extension, the website blocking message stopped. It started early this morning at 1:00 a.m. EDT. I'm guessing the extension was updated with the coin-hive.com request within that extensions code. I'll keep you suggested link for future reference should I encounter this problem again.

THANKS for your prompt reply and assistance!

Regards,

Joe
