Can you try installing the latest 3.2.2.2018 over your existing product and let me know if that worked.

Just download the latest installer from : https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3

Run the installer on top of your existing product. No need to uninstall.

As @Porthos mentioned, you have a much older version. The upgrade scenario of installing the latest version on top of that version may not work properly. If you run into issues, please use mb-clean from the link below to full remove your installed copy and then install the latest.

Reinstalled it again and it worked. After I saw that it was working ok an alert came up that I didn't have the latest update so I canceled that alert and turned off automatic update.

It was advising you the database was out of date. Bad idea turning off updates, Makes the program worthless.

OK, shut down MB and installed from your download link which seems to have sorted the problem. Shut down MB and restarted - all seems fine. Any idea what caused the glitch? I was regularly checking for updates, but presumably that is the database rather than the program itself?
