Can get MBAM to remove trogans on reboot

Recommended Posts

I ran ccleaner. Then MBAM. After I ran it it said that some of the infections would be removed during reboot. But I can't seem to get rid of them. I'm not really advanced in this area, but I follow directions pretty well if someone can help. I'm getting ready to run ComboFix because I read about it in another forum, please help me out! Also the reason why I'm trying to clean the system and registry is because i have a "The instruction at...." error coming up during startup before the user is even selected.....

Hi nu2it And Welcome Malwarebytes!

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
  • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

In your next reply, please include these log(s):

* MBAM Reort

* HijackThis log (new)

Looks like we have Vundo. I just woke up and not had any coffee yet. But,,,,,, I do not see an anti-virus program installed on your computer. It is extremely important that you have an antivirus program installed and running on your computer to prevent possible infections. I would like you to download and install a free antivirus program..

Perform a full scan with Avira and let it delete everything it is finding.

Then reboot.

After reboot, open your Avira and select "reports".

There doubleclick the report from the Full scan you have done. Click the "Report File" button and copy and paste this report in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog.

OK, i can't get the anti virus to install. My guess is that it needs the internet (i downloaded on my laptop and transfered via usb). BUT my internet doesn't work for some reason on the comp. when I try to install my ISP software it says that no network adapter is present. But the router acknowledges that the comp is there, I'm stumped.

Tried it and it didn't work..... I went to device manager and it has an exclamation next to everything in network adapters. When I tried to update the driver it said that the driver was corrupted. I uninstalled and tried to install a new driver from the Broadcom website but it didn't work. The computer is a trashy DELL E521 the network card its running is an even trashier Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. I tried to remove the actually network card but couldn't figure out how. I'm on my way to the store to just get a USB wireless card....

Hey Kenny94

Just wanted to give you an update. While I tried to install the USB wireless network adapter, I couldn't get Windows installer to install it. The computer was given to me for school (if I could get it working correctly) because the orginal owner doesn't know much about computers and was just going to replace it anyway. So since I was having all the issues and didn't need anything on the hard drive anyway I decided to just go ahead and do a factory restore ( sorry about the past owners files but they didn't mention anything important). Then I redownloaded MBAM and ran another scan to make sure it was clean. Here are the results:

Just a quick question though so I don't have the same issues.... What antivirus software do you run in conjunction with MBAM for future reference?

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!

What antivirus software do you run in conjunction with MBAM for future reference?

AntiVir Personal. The one I ask you to download. We are not done yet....... :) Your computer still has infections, and no antivirus software!

Please post a fresh/new HijackThis log.

Hi nu2it

Sorry I missed the part above. Use AntiVir Personal and Malwarebytes they work well together. So your good to go... :)
