Malwarebytes Free stops analysis at 8 seconds.

I had some problem with a Virus that blocked my pendrive. I tried to get rid of it with Malwarebytes Free but for some reason, the analysis stopeda at 8 seconds, analyzing 0 archives. What do I do? I can't analyze my computer, i tried multiple times.

Were you trying to scan the pen drive or the computer?

Both, it didn't do anything with the pendrive and it canceled on the computer.

Scan the pen drive with your AV. As for the computer restart and do a THREAT scan only.

Avast said the drive was clean, but it did it almost instantly, i don't know if it is reliable. I'll try restarting and i'll tell you how it went

I did what you said and again, 0 files analyzed. I tried to scan with avast too and it stops at 14%, the moment where it should  start analyzing files.

Are you using the current 3.2.2 of MB?

Lets try a clean re-install of Malwarebytes, not sure when it was first installed...

Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install)

1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-claen tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.2.2.2018 CU 1.0.188) to re-install from HERE)
2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (after you run all the tools requested, all the logs will be combined into one log file named: mb-check-results.zip located on your Desktop (which will include the FRST logs inside the zip file))

Okay, 'm downloading Malwarebytes again, i don't have the best internet conection so it may take a while.

For some reason it's takin its time to look for updates. I just downloaded, why is it doing that?

You mentioned a slow connection. That is why. The fresh install needs updates after install.

Please close everything during scanning and do not reopen till done.

Oh okay, thanks. It's done now, it finally did an analysis. No threats found though, what could be causing the problem with the pendrive? I analyzed it and it was clean, why does it have write protection now, when i used it normally just days before?

Hard to say. so you cannot copy a file to it? I would copy the current files to your computer and just format the drive.

I don't know how old it is, I didn't buy the drive. Someone asked me to copy some files and I did, but just minutes after, i tried copying other files and for some reason then it was protected. I have all the files backed up so i don't mind losing them, i just want the drive to be usable again.

If I had it here I could figure out what is wrong.  Might be time for a replacement. I will ask a real genius of a staff member to possibly assist. @AdvancedSetup

I don't want to toss out manual commands and make a mistake.
