3.2.2.2029: unfortunately a step backwards

Recommended Posts

With 3.2.2.2018, I had no discernible problems on W7/x64.
With 3.2.2.2029 a problem that is believed to have been solved comes back: User-defined scan -> with "Scan file system" it's over, the scan lasts "eternally" (it doesn't come to an end even after hours)
(MB unfortunately had to be downgraded to 3.2.2.2018)

There was no code changes in version 3.2.2.2018 to version 3.2.2.2029 that I am aware of, basically the only thing that was changes was in the installer program.  That being said, you really did not need to upgrade to version 3.2.2.2029 as they are basically the same under the hood.  If you like you can upgrade once again and then provide the logs below and someone on the team can help you diagnose and correct the issues.

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

  1. FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs
  2. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
  3. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
  4. Press the "Scan" button
  5. This will product two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you
  6. NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log
  7. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
  8. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK"
  9. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
  10. Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Really?
Then it wouldn't be a problem to continue using the older version (waiting and hoping for the next version).

The FRST logs did not contain any malware.
(I can't release logfiles into the public domain because it is a company computer)

Basically, I just wanted to find out if the problem is known to other users - but apparently not.

Yes you can stay on the version that you are on no need to upgrade in your case...

As for your FRST logs you can always send then in a Private Message to one of the staff for example @dcollins, @nikhils or @AdvancedSetup
