Unable to contact server to verify your license key error

Hello,

Running Malwarebites Endpoint Security 1.8 (installed in March) and it has been great for months.  Users started getting notified that their client was out of date so they contacted me.  Upon investigation the console was reporting the product licensed, but  "Unable to contact server to verify your license key error

Tried to restart the Malwarebytes Management Service service and it will not stay started.  No error except that it started and stopped immediately.  Now the console will not open at all.

the only error i can find in the event log is attached to this post via screen shot.

Any assistance would be welcome.

I don't think your upgrade was successful, this console is reporting itself as 1.7.0.3208, not 1.8.0.3443. It also shows many conflicts due to the server registration and database already existing and tied to another machine. When did you upgrade? Did you migrate it to a new server box?

It may be due to a network problem, an inaccessible server, a Windows Update or server address/port change. If Windows updates have recently been installed on the server, please re-boot the server and try again.

I think you should reinstall. Copy your scdb files to the desktop, then uninstall the console and server from programs and features. Reboot the server and reinstall. Stop the Management Server service, then copy your scdb files back to the original location and then restart the service.
