Undetected Files

Good Day,

I do not know whether this is the right forum, but it is the closest I can find.

I am using the free Malware version 3.2.2.2018. I have malware on my PC. My browser keeps on getting re-directed to Bitcoin Sites, Dating sites, channel1vids.com, pipechannels.com,  and others. sometimes when I go into a site with Google, I am not able to go back using the left arrow button.

In order to get rid of secure-surf.net I followed the procedures as per Google search.

Scan with Zemana

Scan with Malware Bytes

Scan with Hitman Pro

I did that and Hitman Pro detected a number of warnings malware Bytes did not detect.

My concern is although I am scanning regularly Malware Bytes did not detect the riskware, malware as per the file Hitman Pro.log.

I also have the screen capture of a browser (secure search)re-directed which I am also trying to remove.

Regards

Hello @Kobusg and :welcome:

Much of what is found there in the logs are junk files and things that are not really a threat so much as just temporary files.

Please run the following steps and post back the logs as an attachment when ready and we'll see about getting you cleaned up.

STEP 01

  • If you're already running Malwarebytes 3 then open Malwarebytes and check for updates. Then click on the Scan tab and select Threat Scan and click on Start Scan button.
  • If you don't have Malwarebytes 3 installed yet please download it from here and install it.
  • Once installed then open Malwarebytes and check for updates. Then click on the Scan tab and select Threat Scan and click on Start Scan button.
  • Once the scan is completed click on the Export Summary button and save the file as a Text file to your desktop or other location you can find, and attach that log on your next reply.
  • If Malwarebytes won't run then please skip to the next step and let me know on your next reply.

STEP 02

Please download AdwCleaner by Malwarebytes and save the file to your Desktop.

  • Right-click on the program and select RunAsAdmin.jpg Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Accept the Terms of use.
  • Wait until the database is updated.
  • Click Scan.
  • When finished, please click Clean.
  • Your PC should reboot now if any items were found.
  • After reboot, a log file will be opened. Copy its content into your next reply.

STEP 03
Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've, run the tool before you need to place a check mark here.
  • Please attach the Additions.txt log to your reply as well.

Thanks

Ron

There is an error being flagged for one of your hard drives too. That needs to get corrected as well or your data is going to be at risk

System errors:

You're also running P2P software that can easily lead to an infection, not to mention that the vast majority of P2P file downloads are illegal.

(BitTorrent Inc.) C:\Users\Kobus\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\updates\7.10.0_43917\bittorrentie.exe

It looks like you had Zemana Antimalware installed on the computer at one time. There are still drivers being referenced. I don't see the program listed as being installed so the driver reference appears to be old. I'll have the script below remove these driver references.

Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop.
NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.

Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply.

Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version.

Thanks

Ron

Hi Ron,

Thanx for the valuable info.

No I never made a batch file. I do not even know how. I will delete the above shortcuts.

I do not know how to fix the Volume Shadow Copy service, but I could Google it to find out.

I have no idea how to fix the errors on the Hard Drive, but maybe google can help as well.

Yes you are correct I only installed Zemana to try and remove this thing which hi-jacked my browser, but I have uninstalled it. I tried to remove all references.

I will run the script you wrote. I will ensure the files is in the correct folder.

PS: I do not know how you discovered all these things, but should it not be much easier if there is software like Malware Bytes to do these repairs.
