Firefox Posted September 12, 2017 ID:1162782 Share Posted September 12, 2017 You can turn off the notifications and disable the check for program upgrades/updates however you will continue to get the notice because the new installer has already downloaded to your computer. The only way to stop this is to either update it (most times it does not require a restart) or you can delete the downloaded installer (the file should be located in the folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Firefox Posted September 12, 2017 ID:1162821 Share Posted September 12, 2017 No you only delete the Malwarebytes install file it will be called something like mb3-setup-consumer-3.2.2.2018.exe (about 65MB in size, it should be the only large file in there) If you give me a screen shot of the folder I can see what file it is. I'm using TreeSize and opening it as administrator - but I get a message that I need permission from the administrators. Your thoughts? TreeSize is a separate issue, I use TreeSize and when I run it as administrator, I get prompted for permission to run as well, this is User Access Control, is that what your seeing? Which file are you trying to delete, the Malwarebytes setup file? If so you probably can't delete it because you have Enable self-protection module ON. You will have to turn that off in order to be able to remove/delete any Malwarebytes files... Set it to Off (you may also have to exit out of Malwarebytes from the system tray as well).
