MBAM missing from context menu

Hi folks,

 

A slight problem, as the title suggests, I'm unable to see anything MBAM related when I right click on a file. I've followed the instructions here but that hasn't worked. I've the latest premium version running.

Any help would be appreciated.

I know this sounds silly but.

1. Download the latest MB 3 installer from : https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3
2. Run the installer on top of your existing product. (Note you don't have to uninstall anything, just run the installer again)

See if that works.

What version of Malwarebytes do you have installed, that link you posted is very outdated... Lets run the steps below to make sure you are on the latest version.

Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install)

1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-claen tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.2.2.2018 CU 1.0.188) to re-install from HERE)
2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (after you run all the tools requested, all the logs will be combined into one log file named: mb-check-results.zip located on your Desktop (which will include the FRST logs inside the zip file))

Hello again.

I've done as you suggested Porthos but sadly without success.....so I moved on to the other suggestion by Firefox. Please see attached file/s.

To be clear, did you run the Malwarebytes mb-clean tool to get a fresh install of Malwarebytes before providing the logs?

You are missing the file MISSING FILE!: MBSHLEXT.DLL and that is why the context menu is missing.

Please follow Firefox's instructions with the MB clean tool.

Well that's all very strange then. I used the clean tool yesterday before creating this post in the hope it may fix the problem. It didn't.......however, having used it again now it seems to have fixed the issue at hand.

Many thanks peeps, I envisage a few uses of the context menu approaching!!

Did you use the link Firefox posted? The one you mentioned in your first post was for MB 2, not MB 3.

Glad to hear its all sorted out... you need to always download the latest version of mb-clean tool, it gets updated from time to time to fix issues and such.
