Realtime protection wont start

So many posts on the net about this fault. I have tried everything suggested to no avail, I still cannot start real time protection in Malwarebytes Premium.  I have reinstalled twice, making sure I deleted as much as I could manually, I have run as administrator,  and rebooted over and over again, nothing changes it.  I am on Windows 10 64bit and my version of Malwarebytes is 3.0.6.1469, component package version 1.0.50 build 1.0.2756.  I have noticed some people have package version 1.0.75 but I cannot get that despite updating. I would start by downloading the latest MB3 version from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3 and installing it over top of your existing installation

Done that twice. Used the link in my email then once installed I hit "update" and it did so. What more can I do?  I will try your suggestion but I have to ask why does "update" not give me the latest version??

Please use the link that was provided.It is newer than the one in the email.

We use metering to roll out application updates over time. That being said, in 3.2, if you click "Check for Updates", you will skip the metering and download the latest version if it's available

You(Porthos)  didn't understand my previous comment. I said I used my link in my email..THEN hit UPDATE. And it did update to a newer version, however..obviously not the latest version. I say again..surely using "update" in the program should in fact UPDATE the program to the latest version. Real time protection now works with your link thank you, but clearly I can't rely on the UPDATE notification in the program.

You should be able to in this new version.
