Software program vanished-got deleted?

Is there a virus, that can delete your anti malware program off your computer?  I signed on to my computer this morning and my Malwarebytes Pro was gone.

I've got exactly the same problem.

I run malwarebytes pro-- regularly and it has not shown any viruses, I run windows defender as well.  It was wierd, I signed on to my laptop this morning and the icon was missing off my desktop.  I searched the computer and files gone as well, wierd I cannot explain it.  I am at work now, but I turned my laptop off before coming to work.  I just want to know why and be able to redownload the program.

If you tried to update your Malwarebytes to the latest version (from within the program) there is a bug that is affecting a few computers.  This process will uninstall your current version and then fails to install the update.  For now you can simply download the latest version and install it to fix the issue.  It should install and activate on its own if you had your previous version activated.

thank you, I went to the site and downloaded the new version and everything is fine.  Ran a scan and no viruses, so the update is probably what messed it up.  thanks

Same thing happened to me.  On one of my three premium installs the application disappeared without trace after 'upgrade'

They are aware of this glitch, as mentioned in post #4 above.... it has the info on how to work around it.

yes and I re-downloaded the program and mine is fixed now.

We are working on a fix for the upgrade issue and it should be fixed soon.

I had the same issue, but just reinstalled per the instructions above and I seem to be back on line.

mine is back up and running, it was the update that messed it up.  I reinstalled it as well.  Thanks
