[resolved] No Malwarebytes 3.2.2 does not start on taskbar

The past 2-3 weeks -  Malwarebytes Premuim does not start-up with pc on taskbar?  Sometimes it takes up to 3 re-boots?  any ideas please?   TIA

Hi @yardbird

Can you please open the program, go to Settings > Protection > and scroll down a little and uncheck the "self-protection module"

Then restart the computer and let me know if that helps

Thanks for the reply Ron !!!!!!  So its back after 1 reboot - do you want me to leave the settings like this?

Yes, please. They are working on a fix for this issue, so later on we can turn it back on if needed.

Nice install of 3.3  --- Can I  change the Start up Options as AdvancedSetup told me to turn off above in post #3 ??

Is this the same issue I was having where the Malwarebytes icon wouldn't show up in the system tray?  If so, am I to assume that there some issue with the self-protection module that was causing the problem and it's been fixed?

@AdvancedSetup Hi Ron !  This morning, started pc (win 7 (SP1) )  No Malwarebytes icon on taskbar ??  version 3.3.1.2183 -

EDIT: After two restarts it showed up on the taskbar  (the self-protection module is checked)

 after a power off & on the Malwarebytes icon is stable Still on the taskbar..on my main Tower !... Just started the notebook, no icon on notebook will post a zip log from the notebook

Log from Toshiba laptop, No icon on taskbar  (the self-protection module is checked)

The logs show that one of the controller packages was updated. Please try restarting the laptop again and let me know. If that does not work then probably best to try the MB-Clean removal and reinstall procedure on this one.

I may have to do a removal and reinstall from scratch - the Tower, (  post #10 & 11 is stable after eight reboots & restarts )  The notebook is giving me trouble... will post back -- laptop log from mb-clean is here -  sent you a pm...... thank you Ron.......

Let me know if you need something else on the notebook. May need FRST logs if there is an issue going on. Going on vacation soon so if I don't get you done today or tomorrow you may have to ping someone else for help on this.

Did a total remove of Malwarebytes from add/remove program files..clean tool again... notebook runs fine! Icon is on taskbar after several restarts!  thank you very much for your help with the logs.
