[RESOLVED] Can't change profile picture

FTR, I am not able to change my avatar either, not with Pale Moon, Chrome or Edge. I do not even see that Profile Photo icon.

Another oddity is when I go to Account Settings, if I click on "Edit Profile", I get an error stating, "You are not allowed to edit this profile". Yet I was able to update my "4" line signature that contained images Photobucket was holding for ransom but, of course, could only have 2 lines now.

Hi @Digerati, 

With the big update to version 4 of our forum software last summer, there was a major overhaul profile customization.

Those in the "Members" group cannot upload a profile picture and are limited to two lines in their signature.

Because you set up your profile picture and signature before that update last year, you were able to keep your profile picture and more than two lines in your signatures. However, any updates to your signature will enforce the new rule of two lines.

I really thought I had set a profile picture before but it seems to be gone. And I can't find how to set a new one.

When I click "Edit Profile" the forum tells me " You are not allowed to edit this profile".

Hi @TheQuickFox,

It looks like you are in the "Members" group (you can see what group people are in right under their personal avatar or the default letter one).

Those in the "Members" group unfortunately do not have the ability to edit their profile picture.

Yes, how do you get from members group to one with ability to edit profile picture?

I own four lifetime malwarebytes licences if that makes any difference.

I want to know this too.  Have you simply disabled all avatar updates?  Or does one need to "graduate" to some magic level to be able to edit one's own profile?

This is a good explanation. There are no profile edits or even post editing until a undisclosed post count.

Garbage posting will result in the account being banned. The process is in place for your own good to help prevent spamming and various types of abuse.
