Relish Posted September 1, 2017 ID:1159231 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Hello and salutations! I am in a bit of a predicament where I cannot install malwarebytes nor any other antivirus programs. I have tried running mbar, mbam but got errors. Eset helped, somewhat, but not the underlining problem of installing an anti virus. My Google Kung Fu somehow got me to where the registry settings are for Windows Defender, and I got that back up and running, but it's not getting rid of the actual viruses/malware/trojans/etc. I did get somewhere with FRST64.exe, but I do not know how to interpret the FRST.txt nor the Addition.txt (attatched below). I'm running a Macbook Pro (early 2008) with a Windows 10 partition. I can boot the OS just fine and I have a recovery disk to get into the troubleshooting command prompt. I would greatly appreciate help with the fixlist.txt, and I know it can take about 24-48 hours to get a reply. I've had this problem for about a week now and only now do I swallow my pride and ask for help. Thank you for your time and hard work. FRST.txt Addition.txt P.S. If I have done something wrong (according to the forum code of conduct), I apologize in advance. I have literally never asked for help on a forum, ever. Aura Posted September 1, 2017 ID:1159235 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Hi Relish My name is Aura and I'll be assisting you with your malware issue. Since we'll be working together, you can call me Aura or Yoan, which is my real name, it's up to you! Now that we've broke the ice, I'll just ask you a few things during the time we'll be working together to clean your system and get it back to an operational state. As you'll notice, the logs we are asking for here are quite lenghty, so it's normal for me to not reply exactly after you post them. This is because I need some time to analyse them and then act accordingly. However, I'll always reply within 24 hours, 48 hours at most if something unexpected happens As long as I'm assisting you on Malwarebytes Forums, in this thread, I'll ask you to not seek assistance anywhere else for any issue related to the system we are working on. If you have an issue, question, etc. about your computer, please ask it in this thread and I'll assist you The same principle applies to any modifications you make to your system, I would like you to ask me before you do any manipulations that aren't in the instructions I posted. This is to ensure that we are operating in sync and I know exactly what's happening on your system If you aren't sure about an instruction I'm giving you, ask me about it. This is to ensure that the clean-up process goes without any issue. I'll answer you and even give you more precise instructions/explanations if you need. There's no shame in asking questions here, better be safe than sorry! If you don't reply to your thread within 3 days, I'll bump this thread to let you know that I'm waiting for you. If you don't reply after 5 days, it'll be closed. If you return after that period, you can send me a PM to get it unlocked and we'll continue where we left off; Since malware can work quickly, we want to get rid of them as fast as we can, before they make unknown changes to the system. This being said, I would appreciate if you could reply to this thread within 24 hours of me posting. This way, we'll have a good clean-up rhythm and the chances of complications will be reduced I'm against any form of pirated, illegal and counterfeit software and material. So if you have any installed on your system, I'll ask you to uninstall them right now. You don't have to tell me if you indeed had some or not, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Plus, this would be against Malwarebytes Forums's rules In the end, you are the one asking for assistance here. So if you wish to go a different way during the clean-up, like format and reinstall Windows, you are free to do so. I would appreciate you to let me know about it first, and if you need, I can also assist you in the process I would appreciate if you were to stay with me until the end, which means, until I declare your system clean. Just because your system isn't behaving weirdly anymore, or is running better than before, it doesn't mean that the infection is completely goneThis being said, I have a full time job so sometimes it'll take longer for me to reply to you. Don't worry, you'll be my first priority as soon as I get home and have time to look at your thread This being said, it's time to clean-up some malware, so let's get started, shall we? Even though MBAR, didn't work, I would like you to try once more, but in a different way. Make sure to download the copy of MBAR linked in this thread. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/198907-requested-resource-is-in-use-error-unable-to-start-malwarebytes/ Execute it and let it extract itself to your desktop. Once done, MBAR will be launched. Close it. Once done, open a command prompt with Admin Rights (search for cmd in the Start Menu, right-click on it and select Run as Administrator). In it, enter thw two commands below (press on Enter after each). cd "%userprofile%\desktop\mbar" mbar.exe /z MBAR should be launched. See if you can run a scan with it now. Relish Posted September 1, 2017 Author ID:1159257 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Hi, Aura I did as instructed and it is giving a: "The system cannot execute the specific program" in the admin priv command prompt. I can get further than this with the mbar.cmd but I run into the "Could not load DDA driver" error. It says to reboot and install the the DDA driver, but the scan just fails after reboot, since it cannot install the DDA driver (I went ahead and tried it again just to be sure). Relish Posted September 1, 2017 Author ID:1159435 Share Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Thank you for the fixlist.txt. I have two 16gb usb flash drives, and I used one of them to use FRST64.exe and the fixlist.txt. The log below is the result using Fix. The "resource is in use" error still persists after using said method. I'm making darn sure I do not get ahead of myself so I shall await your reply. Fixlog.txt Edited September 1, 2017 by Relish I forgot some important information.

Relish Posted September 4, 2017 Author ID:1160215 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Sorry for the late reply. It's working great now. I just need to figure out how to fix system restore, but this was not caused by the heck storm that I faced. I very much appreciate your help in fixing my laptop. Aura Posted September 4, 2017 ID:1160319 Share Posted September 4, 2017 What error message and error code are you getting when you try to turn it on?
Relish Posted September 4, 2017 Author ID:1160368 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Error: 0x80042306 My heart kinda skipped a beat thinking it somehow fixed itself with our previous work (then I got the error). That would have meant I was infected a long time ago. Luckily, that's not the case. I think I got infected from false Bootcamp 6 drivers from some site I cannot remember. I tried finding it again but to no avail. My Macbook pro is too old to get W10 drivers straight from the Mac OSX and then this all happened.
Aura Posted September 4, 2017 ID:1160395 Share Posted September 4, 2017 If you go in Start Menu, System (enter it in the search field), Advanced system settings (in the left pane) and System Protection, is the Protection enabled on your 3 drives, or only the Windows one? Relish Posted September 4, 2017 Author ID:1160428 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Yes, it's just enabled on my windows partition. My Mac OS partition and CD driver and not listed in the available drives. I also set it to 50gbs for disc space usage. So, everything should be set correctly after reading some tutorials. I also used the dism /online /cleaup-image and sfc /scannow fixes verify that there are no corrupt system files. They gave me a clean bill of health. I use my original W10 professional install image I got from windows update to get everything done. There shouldn't be a reason for this to be happening based on all the information available.
