Back in the Day several vendors of spyware removal tools stole Sbybot Search and Destroy's database and incorporated it into their product as their own. Do Leopards change their spots? exile360 Posted August 30, 2017 ID:1158579 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Greetings, The incident some years ago with the apparent theft of our database has nothing to do with why we detect some of their products as PUP. In fact, I don't believe we even detect their anti-malware product, which was the tool which was shown to be using our databases, as PUP. I believe it is primarily due to the reg cleaner and some of the other functions in ASC and the way they function that gave our researchers reason to detect it as PUP.
