You doubt the content? (But the MD5 does not check the content, it just checks that everything has happened and that nothing is missing!)

You may always upload your files to VirusTotal.com for malware evaluation, hash calculations, digital signings, etc.

A self-update or an over-the-top update will preserve your licensing and many personalized settings.  A MB-Clean install is always good for starting over or if experiencing unexplainable issues while preserving the current status on the Malwarebytes' license server.

Otherwise, by cleaning, you lose an activation of the license. For that still unlimited duration. The number of installations is not unlimited

mb-clean is the new version that supports all of our current products, it can be downloaded from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean. This will backup your key if you have one and upon reinstall, inject the key into the installation process.

That being said, under most circumstances, you do not need to use mb-clean. Simply run the latest installer over top of your existing install and it should work.
