AdwCleaner isn't going away for the time being. Obviously, there's some kind of synchronisation between AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes' databases (though AdwCleaner still won't handle rootkits, backdoor trojans, etc.), but it is still recommended to download and run both when cleaning up an infected system.

Eventually we likely will integrate all of the capabilities of ADWCleaner (along with JRT which we also now own) into Malwarebytes, however in the meantime we will continue to make all of these tools available for use until we do (and possibly for sometime afterwards just for the sake of users who require them for specific purposes where they might not be interchangeable).
