Hello and Welcome...

Its good to use MB3 for a routine checkup (however having the premium would protect you better).  Assuming you don't have the Premium version and configured to do scheduled scans, then it would be best to run the scans under an account with Admin rights, so that it has access to remove items found.

No need to close Bitdefender when scanning.

You can always post your scan log if you wish someone to review it before you remove something, however if you ever removed something that you think you may need later you can always restore the items (unless you empty your quarantine items).

Hope that answers your questions....

Thanks for your very helpful help. I will scan my computer on Thursday with both Malwarebytes 3 and MB Adwcleaner. Best regards...

Already answered by me in post #2 above...

I always add exclusions to my AV, not because I need them, but to be proactive and to avoid any potential issues.  Below are the files to exclude.

I would like you to add these files to your Anti-Virus exclusions list as mentioned in this FAQ HERE (my list below includes the exe files as well)

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\malwarebytes_assistant.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe
  • C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\farflt.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMChameleon.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys

Also please exclude the following folders too: (The complete folder)
