Malwarebytes Freezes on 10.8.5

Hello MB,

I have Mountain Lion running on my because I can't upgrade to a newer OS due to software incompatibilities on later OSs so I have to stay on Mountain Lion. I have MalwareBytes for Mac Free 1.2.5.715 I think which is the last version supported. Everytime I want to update or scan, it freezes on the scan word 'OSX.Komplex'. I have to force quit the app everytime that happens because the normal way doesn't work. It took me awhile to find the older versions because MB for some odd reason doesn't list them. It used to work before. However due to the fact I had a hard drive crash, I upgraded to the Samsung EVO SSD. I don't know what's wrong as it won't update and scan.

I'm using the laptop minimally because of this issue. I've been using MalwareBytes since 2010 so I'm hoping it's a minor fix.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac 1.2.5 actually is not compatible with Mountain Lion. If you've installed that version, you'll need to uninstall it (choose Uninstall from the Help menu within the app), then install 1.2.4 instead, which can be found here:

However, note that 1.2.4 is pretty outdated and cannot detect all the threats that a more up-to-date copy of the software can. Also, Mac OS X 10.8 has known vulnerabilities that haven't been - and will not be - patched. You'd be far better off all around if you could find a way to upgrade to a newer system... and you'll be forced to do so eventually when your hardware fails.
