Malwarebytes premium stops trying to update after 3 installation

I downloaded the new version of malwarebytes (3) and now cannot get it to run it stops on the first step "checking for updates"  a window pops up stating that the software has stopped and will restart. Never had any trouble with the old version. Read in the forums about mb-clean, did that no change. Ran nb-check and rfst and included their logs. Hopefully someone can help me get MB to run again.  Thanks, Val
