Junkware Removal Tool Opens then Closes/Quits

Hi there,

 

I have tried numerous times and still JRT keeps quitting itself when I try to open it. I have tried the method of running it as admin and still keeps quitting. Basically when I try to open the JRT.EXE it opens the extracting dialog and once it reaches 100%, it opens its window (looks like cmd but its JRT having the CMD looks) and then it quits immediately. The speed of JRT quitting is like 0.1 second...Can someone please help me out and how do I fix this issue? I need to run JRT Urgently..

Update: Have tried running Junkware Removal Tool(JRT) using safe mode and still unable to run/open....

Hi Krayer,

If you aren't able to open JRT in safe or normal mode, you'll want to ensure that your system isn't infected with something more serious than adware. I'd recommend downloading and scanning with Malwarebytes (MBAM) first. Afterwards, let MBAM reboot the system if it found any threats and retry JRT. Let me know if you need additional help.

Hi Thisisu, I have already ran Malwarebytes (Twice) and it did not detect anything.

Let's gather a couple of diagnostic logs get a bit more information about your system.

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.

You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.
• Press the Scan button.

• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
• The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've run it before it may not and you may need to select it manually
• Please attach both logs to your reply if possible. Otherwise, you may copy/paste the logs directly if you have to, but an attachment is better.
• To save attachments please click the link as shown below. Then browse to where your file is located and select it and click the Open button.

Sorry for the late reply as I have been extremely busy with work and tasks. Anyways, I am on break for today so I can spend some time here. Okay, I have finished the scan using the suggested program from you (Farbar). I have attached the 2 files onto this reply. Please have a look and come back to me with a response and solution. Thanks. In addition, can you please keep these files confidential as it has my personal name and information?. Thanks.
