Ignore List is being Ignored

Recommended Posts

The item is only ignored once per session (so once every time you start your computer).

There are two ways to get rid of the notification:

1) Get a scan log in developer mode showing the infection, and report it as a false positive.

2) Allow MBAM to Quarantine it.

From what I'm seeing, the name of the executable is pspv 1.63.exe which is not the same as what you have listed. Are you sure this is what you think it is? This file is not showing up on Google as a legitimate file, and far be it for me to rely solely on information from Prevx, but they are showing this as malware as well, and they are the only ones who have published information on this executable.

It's also possible that, since it's a password recovery tool, that it is in the database because it can be used to steal passwords, and would normally be a bad thing to find on your computer.

Sorry about the file name confusion.

The original name was pspv.exe I renamed it adding the version number.

Link below is where I down loaded it from.

hxxp://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html

It is also available on popular download sites like MajorGeeks.com

I did not consider it a false positive since it is a password recovery tool.

Since Ignore List is only per session I guess the solution is to leave it zipped until I need it.
