How do I fix my blank forza icons?

To change the icon on a desktop shortcut:

Right click the desktop icon and select 'Properties'.
Pick the Shortcut tab and select 'Change Icon'. (That will show you the path/file where it is looking for an icon).
Select 'Browse', browse to the programme location, and select the file that contains the icons.
(This could be the programme .exe itself, or it could be a .ico, .icl, or .dll file).
Select 'Open'
This will then show the available icons in that file.
Select the one you want and click 'OK'. (If it's not shown then try browsing for a different file).
Select 'Apply'.
