MB won't start at all with shortcut or otherwise

Recommended Posts

I have had the problem twice now, and both times I've followed the instructions using mb-clean, reinstall, etc., and the problem has appeared to be solved, only to reoccur later, without my having done anything I can keep track of that should have caused that.  Now it's happening again.

When I click my desktop shortcut, nothing shows up on my desktop.  No dashboard, nothing.  I have no way at all to tell if MB has been working for me or not.  When I try other ways to locate the *.exe file and double click to run it, same--no action at all.  Nothing at all on the dashboard.

So this time, I'm trying the instructions for recovering from the beginning.  I've downloaded FRST and mb-Check, and I'm running them both.

Here is the mb-check-results.zip file they produced.

I will refrain from doing anything else until I hear back from folks who can review this and hopefully not only help me restore MB to its proper functionalitybut also help me figure out how to prevent recurrence AND maybe even help me figure out what is causing the conflict!

Thx.

Hi.  Thank you for trying to help.  I'm sorry to be a newbie.  I'm not sure what you mean by MB tray icon.  Right now, the only thing I see on my desktop at all is the icon for the shortcut that was created when I last installed the *.exe file, a month or so ago.  Left clicking on that, to try to run MB, does nothing.  That's what prompted this thread.  Right clicking on that desktop shortcut icon opens a list of choices which does not include "quit MB".  I have no icons at all related to MB on my taskbar at the bottom of my desktop, where I do have the usual icons for Firefox, Excel, Word, etc.  So I'm stumped.  Please bear with me!  I'll be online a while, trying to work this out, but don't alter your weekend schedule on my account!

In the system tray to the left of the time and date.
