I'm glad you found something while waiting. Note that 1.2.4 is the latest version of Malwarebytes that supports 10.8, so if you got something older, you should get that one:

However, note that you'd do far better to upgrade to at least macOS 10.9 or later and get a more current version of Malwarebytes. 1.2.4 had some bugs and detection issues that have been fixed in later versions.
