Another Persistent Virus

Recommended Posts

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. This has been going on for about a week or so but checking my system logs, apparently this PC has been infected for about 3 weeks. It re-directs my google searches and does not allow me to update AVG or Malwarebytes and I have tried a few things to no avail. Please help, this is really getting irritating and I'm starting to lose sleep over trying to fix it.

Here is the Malwarebytes Log

Problem is, I believe it re-infects my computer when I reboot...that usually seems to be when I have the most problems.

Welcome to Malwarebytes!!!! <_<

Download RootRepeal:

http://rootrepeal.googlepages.com/RootRepeal.zip

  • Extract the archive to a folder you create such as C:\RootRepeal
  • Double-click RootRepeal.exe to launch the program (Vista users should right-click and select "Run as Administrator).
  • Click the "File" tab (located at the bottom of the RootRepeal screen)
  • Click the "Scan" button
  • In the popup dialog, check the drives to be scanned - making sure to check your primary operating system drive - normally C:
  • Click OK and the file scan will begin
  • When the scan is done, there will be files listed, but most if not all of them will be legitimate
  • Click the "Save Report" Button
  • Save the log file to your Documents folder
  • Post the content of the RootRepeal file scan log in your next reply.

That's odd. Did you run any programs prior to my instructions? I ask because your mbam log shouldn't be clean, it should of detected and removed the malware tdss.

Please explain.... Thanks

You know...i was running malwarebytes and my PC froze on me, when I rebooted my PC and ran malwarebytes again, that was the log that came up. Should I run it again or do something else?

Computer seems to be OK but I haven't been using it much the last few days...maybe things will change but let's hope not. ;)
