Rootkit Scan Disabled?

Recommended Posts

Hello @heavymod and :welcome:

Unfortunately, you have posted to a topic that is over three years old when MBAM v2.2.1 was the current product.  The issue you may be referring to is likely non-existent because the necessary Malwarebytes 3 (MB3) choices are occasionally overlooked.

If using the entirely new MB3, the rootkit scanning option/choice, because it adds significant run time to any scan, is user controlled in two different places.

  1. Manual Scans:  GUI > Settings > Protection > Scan Options > Scan for rootkits toggle.
  2. Individual Scheduled Scans: Scheduled Scan > Edit > Advanced > Scheduled Options > Scan for Rootkits: Check/Uncheck (Choose for each individual scheduled scan)

Thank you.
