My desktop was recently infected with the svcvmx malware virus. I tried all of my known resources to recover, eliminate, restore, but to no avail.

I am sure I tried at least 20 different types of malware removal tools until I final came across: "Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit BETA drills down and removes even deeply embedded rootkits". This did it. It unlocked access to my Malwarebytes software, once I ran it removed all malicious Trojans, worms, etc.

Hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Hi sesnard :)

Glad to see that MBAR did the trick for your SmartService infection. MBAR will be able to remove the main infection, which will allow you to run Malwarebytes after to clean up the rest, and you can also run AdwCleaner at the end to clean the remnants (PUPs, Adware, etc.) that were dropped on the system alongside SmartService.

Thank you for your feedback!
