Malwarebytes 3.x changed to free and won't accept valid license

Recommended Posts

I have MB 3.x and when I opened the program this morning it showed it was the free version. I reapplied the license ID and KEY and it stated, "MBAM403104
The usage level has exceeded the max volume allowed." I've paid for a license for each of the 3 PCs I use MB on and don't share the licenses. I just noticed it showing as free today. A week ago, at least, MB 3.x properly showed as paid/licensed.

I uninstalled MB, rebooted, used the mbam-clean-2.3.0.1001.exe clean tool and rebooted, reinstalled mb3-setup-consumer-3.1.2.1733-1.0.160-1.0.2251.exe. Tried to apply license ID and KEY and still get same error, MBAM403104 The usage level has exceeded the max volume allowed."  This is a lifetime license.

Yes this is a problem. I'm experiencing the same thing. If you could check your Event Viewer and let me know if you have any entries relating to MBAM or its components it would be nice. I have some event errors relating to it around the same time mine converted back to free and if we have similar errors then our problem might be the same.

Thank you Porthos - I just created a ticket via https://support.malwarebytes.com/community/consumer and then clicking on Create a ticket (https://secure.livechatinc.com/licence/8473103/open_chat.cgi?groups=1)

I'm assuming that's what you meant by "use the help desk."

I did a clean install of MB so at least on back on a 13 day trial of the full version and protected until support can get to this.

I am having the same problem. I have a license 'forever' and after a failed Windows update, Malwarebytes wasn't working anymore(service error). So i uninstalled the software and reinstalled a new version. I had to activate my license, but a got a 'mbam403104' error.

Can this svp be resolved?
