I have this problem:

While cleaning the system with the latest version of Piriform CCleaner, MBAM interrupts with this message that a trojan downloader has been detected, named "downloads.sqlite", located in the folder AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\57m0070k.default\

When I try to put it into quarantine both CCleaner and MBAM freeze, and a restart of the system is required. Then I find that the file is not quarantined.

What is strange is that MBAM does not mark the file as bad during a manual scan.

On virus total it is also marked 100% safe.

How can I solve this repeated popup from MBAM?

Hello,

Your version of Windows ?

Is your MBAM the download/free version? or did you purchase a license? and is it up-to-date with definitions?

If on Windows XP:

Set Windows to show all files and all folders.

On your Desktop, double click My Computer, from the menu options, select tools, then Folder Options, and then select VIEW Tab and look at all of settings listed.

"CHECK" (turn on) Display the contents of system folders.

Under column, Hidden files and folders----choose ( *select* ) Show hidden files and folders.

Next, un-check Hide extensions for known file types.

Next un-check Hide protected operating system files.

If on Windows Vista:

Show all files:

  • Click the Start button, and then click Computer.
  • On the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
  • Click the View tab.
  • Locate and uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
  • Locate and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
  • Locate and click Show hidden files and folders.
  • Click Apply > OK.

Do not run or start any other programs while these utilities and tools are in use!

Close any of your open programs while you run these tools.

Start your MBAM MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware.

Click the Settings Tab. Make sure all option lines have a checkmark.

Next, Click the Update tab. Press the "Check for Updates" button.

At this time of posting, the current definitions are # 2546 or later.

When done, click the Scanner tab.

Do a Quick Scan.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)

The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds here or http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr or

http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds

Disable any script blocker if your antivirus/antimalware has it.

Then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

When done, DDS.txt will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt

[*]Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the following log in your next reply:

the latest MBAM scan log

DDS.txt only
