Yes - I did run "mb3-setup-consumer-3.1.2.1733-1.0.160-1.0.2251" and everything works fine .....

... until next time I restart Windows I get the "Unable to start - Unable to connect the Service" again

I'm running F-Secure   could that be the reason ??

:welcome:

That is a definite yes.

This pc has installed the F-Secure antivirus which does lead to having it interfere with our program being able to communicate out over the F-Secure firewall.
These tweaks ( adjustments ) in F-Secure need to be made in order for all to co-exist better.

Some antivirus applications require exclusions to be defined for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, so that they do not interfere with Malwarebytes operation and vice versa.  These are typically referred to as exclusions or ignore list entries. The following is a list of Malwarebytes programs which should be placed on an Exclusion list if required.

This list is specific to Malwarebytes  3.x.

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\assistant.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\mbampt.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\mbamtray.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware\mbamwsc.exe
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamchameleon.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\farflt.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys (64-bit only)
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae.sys (32-bit only)

For specific steps on how to add these files to Computer Security by F-Secure please refer to the following link:

@Setnan

Set exclusions for /Program Files/Malwarebytes folder under Virus Protection (the objects). Follow this reference except for folder I have pointed out.

A reboot may be required. You do not need to set any other exceptions in F-Secure after doing the above. Let me know how this works.
