I often start up my PC and Malwarebytes Premium gives me the message that updates are not current.
I then click Check for updates so it downloads and installs the latest database update.
So why doesn't it do this itself instead of warning me about it? At this very moment it's doing a scheduled scan while it says the updates are not current. Automatic updates is set to On with an interval of 1 hour. Last time I had my computer on was less than an hour ago so it should be up to date right?

Hello @Nisei:

Thank you for reporting the system's update issue.  The Malwarebytes' staffers/helpers must have good log data for a quality fault analysis to begin.

  1. Please save your work and close all running user applications for your convenience. applications for your convenience.

  2. Please follow the steps within the locked/pinned topic at Having problems using Malwarebytes? Please follow these steps.

Thank you.

It will do that if it has been more than 24 hours since the last update. (computer off or sleeping)

Not always, There are many updates in a typical day.

It will update after the warning. I checked mine closely to be sure this morning.

If it was I wouldn't complain. I've manually checked for updates 2 hours after I posted this. It just says it's applying updates and it's OK again.

Never had this issue pre v3.

Next time after the computer is off for more than 24 hours. When you see the notice right click on the MB icon and see if check for updates is grayed out if so it is checking for updates. If you don't want the warning to show turn it off (see your second screenshot).

Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues....

  1. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: mb-check-results.zip, FRST.txt, Addition.txt)

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,
