Recommended Posts

can someone explain the difference between MalwareBytes Endpoint Security vs MalwareBytes Endpoint Protection? Is the Endpoint Protection just cloud managed based?

The most notable difference is that yes, Endpoint Security is an on-prem solution while Endpoint Protection is cloud based. Those are only the surface differences. Endpoint Protection has the new protection agent, based on Malwarebytes 3 technology, now on the business side. Additionally, it has all those technologies; Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware all rolled into one instead of being separate like the older on-prem.

So the Endpoint security option does not include Malwarebytes 3 features like Anti-Ransomware?

Endpoint Security does include Anti-Ransomware, however it is a standalone tool that does not integrate with the console.

With Endpoint Security you cannot central manage, deploy and report everything regarding to the Anti-Ransomware module. So basically not an option for large organizations.

In addition, the anti-ransomware module within Endpoint Security is still the 0.9 version.

Also, Endpoint Security does not have an Anomaly Detection Engine, (if I have to believe the information and communication on the website).
