This ransomware is detected by our Anti-Ransomware product and the real-time protection components in MB3. If you're running those, you should be safe. However, this is a good reminder that you should run windows update, because the patch for this vulnerability was already released by Microsoft.

Ransomware Protection does not run in XP, but our other real time protection modules should stop the dropper from running on your machine. As mentioned above though, Microsoft released a patch for Windows XP that helps to stop this threat as well. You can read more about that here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms17-010.aspx. It's highly recommended to install if you're going to continue using an insecure operating system like Windows XP
