Reinstalled the software and restarted the computer.  Still have the "Unable to connect" message when I open Malwarebytes.

Hello--

Looks like you have F-Secure installed and there is a known compatibility issue with F-Secure.

Please follow the instructions in this post to add an exclusion for Malwarebytes within F-Secure:

The directory you'll need to exclude is:  C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware
