Rollback MBAM 3 to previous version?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to rollback MBAM to the version I had prior to 3?

Ever since 3 was installed  last weekend, I've had nothing but trouble with the laptop it was installed on. Nothing else has been installed before, or after MBAM 3.0. I do run Kaspersky Internet Security alongside MBAM, and have done so for several years with zero issues. Ever since the MBAM 3 install, it acts as if it I have no internet connection, or a very bad one, and sites have become super slow to load. There is nothing wrong with my network, router, cable modem, etc. as none of the other machines that  I use (such as the one I"m on right now) has any problems whatsoever - my wifi network is fast as is my internet connection, sites load normally, which is to say it's quite fast.

If I can roll back MBAM to my previous version, then maybe I can determine whether or not the update to 3 really is the issue. This system with 3 on it is running Windows 10 (this one is Win7 and not running MBAM)

Thanks!

Was this a clean fresh install of MB or an upgrade? Did you exclude MB from Kaspersky and Kaspersky from MB?

It was an update from the existing version.

Let us get a clean install of the current version.

We have another tool called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

1. After downloading the tool run the tool.

2. The tool will automatically clean up the older possibly damaged installation and will ask you for a restart.

3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product .

4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.

5. Now you will have the latest product installed.

Please let me know if you are still seeing issues after the latest product install.

they are each excluded from the other.

You MANUALLY excluded them in both programs.? We will worry about that later if the above does not work.

Well, they don't exclude each other by themselves ;)

Since I didn't download the MB3 update, it just updated via the regular program update process, do I need to download the MB3 install files??

Follow the instructions exactly.
