This may seem like another thread of the same problem, but it is only because the current fixes listed on this forum do not work in the long run.

Here is my problem: whenever Malwarebytes starts on PC boot, it says that protection is disabled. Web Protection is disabled and it gets stuck in the starting... position when enabled. The same is true for Exploit Protection. Malware Protection snaps right back to disabled whenever enabled. Ransomware protection, thankfully, does not get disabled and stays enabled. I've tried the solution posted on this forum (updating the definitions, closing Malwarebytes, re-opening Malwarebytes, and restarting the PC). The first time I try this solution, Malwarebytes doesn't start due to an error connecting to the service. So, I go to services.msc and find that the Malwarebytes service is stuck in the stopping state. After I wait about a minute, I can manually restart the Malwarebytes service and load Malwarebytes only to be faced with the same problem. Restarting the computer doesn't remedy the situation. The next day, I start my PC and Malwarebytes runs perfectly. The day after that, the same problem appears again. I have no idea why Malwarebytes only works every other day.

Here is my Malwarebytes version info:

Malwarebytes Version: 3.1.2.1733

Component Package Version: 1.0.139

Update Package Version: 1.0.2146

I didn't post Malwarebytes Check info due to privacy reasons (I'm sure that everyone here can understand).

The funny part about this whole process is that I only started using Malwarebytes last week.

The above can't harm you. But to try to fix your issue.  Let's get a Clean start.

We have a tool called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

1. After downloading the tool run the tool.

2. The tool will automatically fully uninstall the product and will ask you for a restart.

3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product.

4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.

5. Now you will have the latest product installed.

Please let me know if you are still seeing issues after the latest product install.

OK since you still have the issue now we need to get logs so staff/helpers can review them and see if we can tell what may be going on...

  1. Please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: mb-check-results.zip, FRST.txt, Addition.txt)

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,
