I have been a premium customer since you first started your company, always happy. I am a database developer and participated in your 3.* beta and previously the other products that you incorporated into it. I have installed your 3.* product twice before and both times had no end of problems and I don't want it. Is there a way I can keep my 2.2.1.1043 and just get definitions update? Can I turn off the "there is a new version message"? I just want the anti-malware. Or is there a "just anti-malware" version of 3.* without the free trial (because the free trial will include the new features I don't want)? Thanks.

That could be because you have Enable Self Protection enabled... disable that or reboot in safe mode and then delete it.

No, Self Protection is disabled. It must be disabled by default, because i havent touched it.

I did found a program what can delete files while rebooting, so i got it now deleted. Still, Self Protection was disabled.

Now i know how to install v2 back to my mom computer. She has lot of problems with v3. Every update brake it and it wont start after, so it is completely useless. Im tired to reinstall it every time.

@reko if you like the team can help you with your Mom's computer or yours with MB3 to see why its not working properly.... it could be something simple.  All you need to do is post some logs for review.  If you want to go that route, follow the instructions below then post a new topic with the required logs. (I would start with step 1 and get a clean install first, then if it does not work properly, then get the logs).

Let's try this first.... (Malwarebytes clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install)

  1. Please follow the steps in this pinned topic to uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest build - Malwarebytes mb-clean tool (NOTE: After uninstalling with the mb-claen tool you will be asked to reboot. Once you reboot it will ask you if you want to re-install Malwarebytes, you can select YES (it will download the latest version) or you can download the latest version manually (currently v3.1.2.1733 ) to re-install from HERE)
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and attach to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs (the 3 logs are: mb-check-results.zip, FRST.txt, Addition.txt)
  3. NOTE: More info about the latest Malwarebytes 3.1.2 HERE; MB 3 User Guide ONLINE; MB 3 User Guide PDF; MB 3 FAQ: Malwarebytes 3.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank You,

Firefox
