Well Bob, generally the closer to the Equator you live, the hotter it will be.

Also, due to global warming factors (both in and out of our control) the atmosphere has been getting hotter.

A lot also has to do with what the weather is doing. Weather patterns change, air moving around, etc... will all make for hotter and/or a muggier/humid atmosphere.

Hopefully that answered your question :D I'm no science expert but just tried my best :)
