Can you please try the following:

  1. Right Malwarebytes in the system tray (by the clock) and choose Quit Malwarebytes
  2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService
    • The ProgramData folder may be hidden. If you can't see it, please type the path manually or turn on showing hidden files/folderes
  3. Delete the following files: clean.mbdb, prot.mbdb, rdefs.mbdb, rules.mbdb, scan.mbdb, tids.mbdb, wprot.mbdb
  4. Open Malwarebytes by double clicking the desktop icon
  5. Check for updates and wait 60 seconds

If it still fails, please upload a new set of mb-check logs

Thanks Devin.  Appears to be all good now.

For some reason it would not let me delete the files (even though my UAC has admin privileges). Finally rebooted in Safe Mode with Cmd prompt and did it thru DOS commands. :)

Restarting, of course, brought the db files back but now I could delete without a problem (go figure). Had to scare up and redo my License and ID key, then Web protection wouldn't kick it; but after another reboot and manually starting Web Protection it appears to be tickety-boo now.

Appreciate the prompt assistance.
