Hello,

since some days I always get the message "Unable to start" "Unable to connect the service" when I start my PC. When I look into the task manager I can see, that "mbam.exe" is running. But I have no blue "M" icon.

When I start Malwarebytes in the program list I get the same message. After starting the installation the program runs normally. But I don't want to make a new installation every day.

I use Win 7 in a network and have a payed version of Malwarebytes.

What can I do?

Regards

Florian

Hi and Welcome @Florian_Obermueller

The Malwarebytes' developers/staffers/helpers must have good log data for a quality fault analysis to commence.

1) From the locked/pinned topics, at the beginning of this sub-forum, please follow the steps within the topic at Having problems using Malwarebytes? Please follow these steps

2) In the next reply to your topic, please only attach the three (3) separate files that are developed above: mb-check-results.zip, FRST.txt, and Addition.txt.

3) Since you may have not already done so by now, please consider selecting the "Follow" button, near the upper-right corner of your topic, to receive timely notifications regarding replies.

hi
i have that 'problem' every time a new version was released and I install over it
below is how I fix it, by trail and error,
1) run mbclean (no harm do it again)
2) reboot
3) in win 7 go to programs files (or whereever residual mb files is stored) and delete that folder
4) install lastest mb (or whichever version you want)
5) run mb and it should work as if you first install (you may need to activate again so copy you key in advance)

just want to mention again and highlight,
On 'unable to connect service'
I found that on step 3,
there maybe some remaining files that prevent the new installation
that after I deleted the whole remaning MB folder,
reboot and reinstall, everything work great.

good luck

note: this is my user experience and I do not know your computer configuration - pls decide wisely for yourself - and there are many experts here are assisting you

There's a known issue with MB3 and F-Secure. To fix this, go into F-Secure settings to the following page and click the exclusions link at the bottom. Then add C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-malware to the exclusions. Then restart and your issue should be resolved
