Hello @Gt-truth

If you disable to "Scan for Rootkits" then you can scan without choosing a drive/specific folders .

In custom scan if you want to scan for rootkits you need to select either the whole drive or choose the sub folders in a drive.

If you want to enable rootkit scan then another way is to create a daily/weekly scheduled scan and choose to scan for rootkits.

I just try out and it worked when I have to unchecked "scan for rootkits"  and thanks to you to Explain this to me . I have one question which is :

when I had hover at custom scan area it says "scan startup and registry settings" and when I had hover at hyper scan area it only says "scan startup files" are both have something Different to scanning for it? and what this mean ? so a hyper scan will not scanning for registry settings ?

Hello @Gt-truth

You are correct. Here is the difference between a Hyper scan and Custom scan:

Hyper Scan :  This method of scanning is limited to detection of immediate threats. Areas and methods tested include:

 Memory Objects: Memory which has been allocated by operating system processes, drivers, and other applications.

 Startup Objects: Executable files and/or modifications which will be initiated at computer startup.

Custom Scanning Options : These settings provide capability to determine the functional areas that will be scanned. They are as follows:

 Memory Objects: Memory which has been allocated by operating system processes, drivers, and other applications. It is important to note that threats detected during scans are still considered threats if they have an active component in memory. As an extra measure of safety, memory objects should be scanned.

 Startup and Registry Objects: Executable files and/or modifications which are initiated at computer startup, as well as registry-based configuration changes that can alter startup behavior.

 Archives: If this setting is checked, archive files (ZIP, 7Z, RAR, CAB and MSI) will be scanned up to four levels deep. Encrypted (password-protected) archives cannot be tested. If left unchecked, archive files will be ignored.

 Rootkits: These are files stored on your computer's local disk drives which are invisible to the operating system. These files may also influence system behavior. Potentially Unwanted Programs
