web protection is turned off and will not turn back on.

So right now my Malwarebytes Premium turned off  web protection, and it will not turn back on (it shows "starting" when clicked to turn on). It will also not allow me to initiate a scan on my system. I am not sure what might be wrong here or what some fixes might be.

 

It popped up earlier in the evening that "web protection is off, you are not protected" in the toolbar / taskbar and will not re-enable.

i am having this problem too, ive tried the steps in previous threads from months ago where it seemed to be a problem with some users. nothing has helped, i tried turning off rootkit scanning WHICH let me toggle web protection on for maybe a second. but is now back to being stuck on "starting."  it sounds like thousands of people are having this same problem today...needless to say i have uninstalled, reinstalled. i thought it may have been a widnows 7 compatibility problem but it seems this is troubling people across all microsoft products.

Glad that you guys are working on it as without protection it is scary to move around the web.

This should now be resolved with database update 1.0.1976. After making sure you have the update, please restart your computer and then turn on Web Protection
