I'm not even sure this domain is owned/managed by Malwarebytes. At the bottom of the site it says this:

Quote

Ga voor de officiele malwarebytes site naar malwarebytes.org

Go to malwarebytes.org for the official malwarebytes site

And if it's blocked, I can understand why. Since Malwarebytes is a registered trademark (I imagine), I also wouldn't be happy if someone else would register a domain with my name in it advertising it as I wouldn't know if the downloads on it are legit or not :)

I understand,  but  it is confusing if  Dutch  people   download malwarebytes  form www.malwarebytes.nl  and download it  and after running malwarebytes

and they go again to www.malwarebytes.nl  and see that is blocks this website , they might think that they installed malware   instead of malwarebytes version :)

they got panic and uninstall it !!!!   a pity for Malwarebytes  so they will not get a new payed customer :)

It's not ours.  It still lists the product name as "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" but the official name is just "Malwarebytes" now.

They're also still using the old product/company logo rather than the current one which was changed with the launch of version 3.

I'm sure that you can, however I believe a website has to be authorized to host our software and if we're blocking these guys, it's most likely for a good reason.

Just because they're hosting our software does not mean we have any relationship or affiliation with them, as I assure you we do not.

I doubt Malwarebytes would lose customers over that. If users see that the website is blocked, they'll most likely have the same reaction as you, which is to wonder why this is happening, investigate a bit and eventually notice that this website isn't affiliated with Malwarebytes.

The annoying part though is that the website is ranked 2nd, but that might be only in the Netherlands.

they downloaded it from that website  and installed it  , and then malwarebytes tells them that website is blocked

they could be in a panic and dont trust it  so  uninstalled it  , that is also a possibility.

I am not a newbie  and i can find forums :)

but anyhow  i would go after it and contact that website owner :)

good night

If we are blocking these guys deliberately for trademark violations or any other legal reasons, then I can assure you they were contacted long before we put the block in place.  Blocking a site is a last resort and generally reserved for malicious activity towards users, not legal/terms violations against our company.
