I've had Malwarebytes Premium and Avast for almost a year now with no issues, but lately I think I have reasons to be concerned.

Threat scans for me usually take around 15 minutes, but now they seem to be taking longer. A scan from last night took around 30m, and as of right now a bootscan that started around 11:00AM has taken 1hr20m44s and still hasn't finished. It usually scans in the neighborhood of 300,000+ items, and that hasn't changed, but the time it is taking is starting to worry me. Prior to these scans I made some back ups and a system image for a external HDD, so I'm hoping that has something to do with it and that there's nothing to worry about.

I'm new to support forum help and I don't really know what information you need, but here is my system:
Windows 8.1 64-bit

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 3.50GHz

8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz

931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00WN4A0 (SATA)

I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Update: I found a post regarding a similar issue and found out it was from having Malwarebytes scan on boot. I changed my schedule and rebooted, started another scan and now it's way faster. My guess is that it was getting hung up on other start up programs.

Sorry for the trouble. Not sure on how to close this topic.
