MB ver 3 causing connectivity problem

Recommended Posts

since malwarebytes version 3 is comes out .I have been noticed that this the new version 3 is have something to do by affecting both (DNS and HOST) generally . this version is slowdown/affected my system networking . so not sure if I’ve want to install the latest version (3) or may be I will go with version 1 . also this now version sometime is make my gaming session to lagging too much which I had to uninstalled and reinstalled the software on a daily basis . I have really fad up of doing this all day .yeah I have some tools to fix what malwarebytes breaking . so can someone’s here to confirm this behavior ?

by the way I have done a repair install of windows as of yesterday and the issue still goes on (windows 7) and also I had to completely removed my malwarebytes as of yesterday and I haven’t to re-install it due to connectivity caused . <_< so when I have no malwarebytes (ver3) installed on my own system then all my system networking back to normal . no issue until to thinking of re installing the version 3 (the problem it will be there if MB is installed)

Ok, do you see this with any specific programs or sites? Can you try the following as well? It isn't super scientific, but it should give us an idea something to look at:

  1. Make sure that Web Protection is turned on
  2. Open a command prompt window and type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter
  3. Type ping google.com and press Enter
  4. Take a screenshot of the results
  5. Open MB3 and turn off Web Protection under Settings -> Protection
  6. Go back to the command prompt window and repeat steps 2-4
  7. Please upload both screenshots

This won't give us a lot of detail, but will give us some information about may be going on

Thanks for the screenshots. The ping times all looked relatively normal which means we shouldn't be seeing too much of a DNS latency issue. We are working on some issues where we notice a slowdown in network connectivity, but the speeds we're seeing are not a huge decrease, more just getting consistent with where we should be.

I noticed in your logs you sent me that you have quite a bit of cleaning/vpn/security software on the system. If you disable these other pieces of software, does your browsing experience improve at all?

@dcollins true I was have some VPN/proxy software installed on my system (and that for sure to surfing freely) and I already uninstalling them because all they have a slow proxies .and now I have only been using  a probable one . and this one is very fast .. and when I have to enable/running one of VPN/proxy with a web browsing then Inevitably browsing any websites will becomes slow

those kinda of software it only slowdown while in the browsing session . most of such software will make of any web pages to loaded very slowly and that may affect the the PC’s networks on some cases .likewise . and the answer Of course is yes .. when I have to disable the VPN/proxy then all browsing will gets better improve without any VPN/proxy is running .

and for the security software I was have AVG installed on my system and yes there was an conflict problem with MALWAREBYTES but not a connectivity problem with AVG or with any security software (anti-virus)

and for cleaning software . I think I have Glary Utilities 5 and Kaspersky Cleaner -it’s free for use . however . not sure of I still can to use Glary Utilities 5 or not . but for Kaspersky Cleaner it’s nice and useful program ! Kaspersky Cleaner can fix some windows problems however it is not a reg cleaner

@Gt-truth not this specific issue, but one we've been tracking. We're seeing some DNS queries take longer to respond than they should, but not enough that negatively impacts a typical browser experience.

okay .so yet again I am unprotected because I had to removed MALWAREBYTES once again ! and right now everything is okay now . well what should do I do now ? thanks.
