Doesn't scan, just stops immediately

When I open MBAM and tell it to run a manual full scan, it starts the process as usual (pre-scan operations and such), but then just instantly skips right over the actual scanning and shows results all amounting to 0.

Edit: reboots and log wipes don't help. It used to work a while ago and I didn't change anything.

You're running a very old version of MB3. I would highly recommend installing the latest version from the following thread.

I literally clicked the "install application updates" button in settings yesterday and it reported being up to date. At no time during the pre-scan updates or anything did it warn me about updates either. Seems the update mechanism is being wonky.

We meter out updates, but it is strange you didn't get the update. Can you run mb-check from the following link and upload the zip file it puts on your desktop?

Already did, check my post

Installing the update and then trying to run it gives me an error: "could not connect to service". I checked the service and it installed itself into Disabled state... Nice bug

Edit: disabled because it's marked for deletion, probably deferred install that will happen after reboot that the installer failed to mention

If you restart, does the issue go away? If not, you can try installing again over top of the existing installation

Yeah, I rebooted and the service is just gone now, needs to be installed over top a second time. Installer needs some work too...
