Exploit Protection Keeps turning off

I am running malwarebytes premium 3.1.2 . I installed the update the other day and ever since the exploit protection is consistantly turning off after the program starts. I have tried restarting the program or restarting the computer. It still turns off. When I try to manually turn the protection back on it maxes out my i7-6700k cpu at 100% load. Ultimately it fails to turn back on unless I restart the program and then it only stays on for, at a maximum, 60 seconds.

It looks like the upgrade may not have gone through properly, can you please run mb-clean from the thread below to remove your currently installed version and re-install the latest?

I removed it using that program and reinstalled the latest version and it seems to be working okay so far. I will report back if it fails again.
