MWB 3.0.6 runs full scan every hour - STOP!

Hello. I don't know anything about your fine product. I know I need it though. Please help me with this issue.

I'm running Windows 7 home premium on an older desk top computer (3 to 4 years old).

After getting the free upgrade (I was a previous customer) to MWB 3.0.6 it runs a COMPLETE scan at the top of every hour.

This takes anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes sometimes. While MWB 3.0.6 is scanning, this causes my entire computer to slow down significantly.

HOW CAN I GET YOUR FINE SOFTWARE TO STOP SCANNING EVERY HOUR?

How about every 3 or 4 hours or so? Wouldn't this be sufficient?

I also am using ESET NOD32 Antivirus so it's not as if I have no protection at all.

This sounds like a possible scheduled scan. Can you please run mb-check from the following link and upload the mb-check-results.txt file it creates on your desktop?

Hello Mr. Collins

I clicked the link you gave me and it gave me an executable file immediately.

I have NOT tried to open it. It is labeled:  mb-check-3.0.7.1003.exe

I've tried several times to drag and drop it here into this word editor you are using for this forum.

Since it an executable file it does NOT allow me to do so.

How do I send this file to you so you can view it and help me out?

Remember, I'm not a techie like you are. Please make it as simple as possible in order for me to comply with what you need from me.

You need to run the file mb-check-3.0.7.1003.exe on your computer, which in turn will generate a report mb-checkResult.txt

That is the file you need to upload here...

If you open Malwarebytes and go to Settings -> Scan Schedule, you have a scheduled scan set to run every hour. You can delete that scan and create a new scan, or edit that scan and change the frequency. This should solve your issue

Since MWB is now scanning - again - I must wait for it to finish.

Then I will do as you instruct and adjust the scan schedule.

I feel so dumb.
